Sefton Family Hubs are open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm for anyone to drop in and speak to one of the team. They host sessions delivered by our Early Help team and our partners.
We know that family life has its challenges; their Family Hubs are a place to come when you need a chat, a cuppa and some advice and support.
In the preceding academic year, four students from Waterside Academy were selected to participate in the second series of the BBC television program, "Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams." The series follows former professional cricketers, led by Freddie Flintoff, as they collaborate with cricket clubs in the North of England to foster growth and opportunity. A key component of this initiative involves engaging local youth, encouraging them to participate in cricket by joining their local club, Bootle Cricket Club. The program documents their journey as they learn the sport, develop as a team, compete in matches, and contribute to the transformation of the club.
Feedback received from the participating students regarding their engagement with cricket and its subsequent impact has been overwhelmingly positive. Of the four students selected, three have since progressed from Waterside Academy. Notably, two of these have successfully completed their first year of further education at college, while the third has secured an apprenticeship and is reportedly performing exceptionally well. The remaining student is currently preparing for his (GCSE) examinations.
The broadcast of this series on BBC One is anticipated later this year, with a projected air date around September.

We hosted a fantastic Try a Trade event for our KS3&4 students. Our students embraced all the trades on offer and took on some valuable insights into the world of work. A BIG Thank you to @sovinigroup @AmiantoServices and all other trades for visiting.
A massive well done to all the year 11 pupils who held a successful coffee morning. The pupils were so happy and the effort they made was phenomenal. They raised an amazing £125 for charity.
On Monday 2nd October, we welcomed Vicki Caton from Southport and Ormskirk Hospital to our Dale Acre site. Vicki delivered a fantastic career insight session about routes into the pharmaceutical industry.
